Vagamon is a hill station located in the Idukki district of Kerala. At an altitude of 1,100 meters above sea level, Vagamon enjoys a cool climate with temperatures between 10-23 degrees C in summer. It covers an expanse of 3 hills Thangal, Murugan and Kurisumala, each representativeof the 3 religions in Kerala i.e.Islam, Hinduism and Christianity.Vagamon remains asleepy town with tea plantations, magnificent meadows, pine forests and deep ravines. It is home to a large variety of flowers and orchids. It provides ample opportunities to tourists for trekking, paragliding and rock climbing. National Geographic Traveller has listed Vagamon in their '50 most attractive places to visit in India'.
Vagamon is located in the Kottayam- Idukki border in Kerala. It lies at the fringe of the Western Ghats and the road from Erattupetta is the most accessible and direct route from the plains. The nearest railway station is in Kottayam at 65 kms distance and Cochin International airport is the nearest airport at 100 kms distance. It is very well connected to the rest of Kerala by road.
