Amidst government protected forest area, about two kilometers away from the local market, this homestay is located in a secluded yet peaceful environment. With thick forest mountains in the background and apple orchard around the house is situated in an ideal surrounding to invigorate and refresh one's soul. The hosts of the homestay, Sudhir Sood and his wife Meenu have now got settled in Solan. Being born and brought up in Solan, Sudhir is well aware of the culture, history and lifestyle of the local people.
As a forest contractor in his professional life, he has traveled to many places in Himachal like Shimla and Theog in Himachal and Rajgarh in Madhya Pradesh. Meenu is a simple housewife who helps Sudhir in taking care of the homestay and provides guests with interesting local and Punjabi delicacies to taste. They both enjoy traveling, sightseeing, adventure, trekking and other similar activities. The homestay has two residential buildings. The hosts stay in one part and the guests stay in the other.
The rooms for guests are modernly styled and equipped with low wooden beds and furniture. The big windows in the room allow warm sun rays to filter through the room with the rising sun. Each room has double beds with attached bathrooms. The residence has two balconies on its first and top most floor, from where one gets a beautiful view of the mountains and small village houses around. The most interesting space is the open area with a seating arrangement where evenings can be spent casually sipping a cup of tea or coffee. Those visiting the ideal hill station can enjoy a village tour (sub-village- Nalanda) and get to know the local people and their lifestyle more. Other than that 'University of Horticulture & Forestry', one of India's first and Asia's biggest horticulture and Forest University can make for an interesting visit. The best season to visit the hill-station will be between the months of March and September when it becomes misty in monsoons and pleasantly cold just before the beginning of harsh winters.
